What is the material of the brake drum?

There are two types of brake drum: cast and combined. Gray cast iron is often used for casting brake drum, which has the advantages of easy machining, wear resistance and large heat capacity. In order to prevent the deformation of the brake drum under load, ribs are usually cast on the outer circumference of the brake drum to strengthen the stiffness and increase the heat dissipation effect.
